Construction Suicide Prevention Week at Miron

Posted by Miron Construction

With construction suicide rates being five times higher than the national average, Miron Construction has taken steps toward addressing and erasing the stigma that comes with mental health and suicide. We are doing this by learning the warning signs, understanding the staggering facts pertaining to our industry, and sharing lived experiences to provide others with the strength they need to push through.

We wanted our message of Tomorrow Needs You to be communicated to everyone – at our project sites, offices, Yard Operations, clients, and community members. To do this, we hosted stand-downs revolving around the topics of mental health and suicide prevention; designed signage that was hung at several project sites across the Midwest; wore Tomorrow Needs You t-shirts on World Suicide Prevention Day; and launched a Mental Health Hub that is packed with resources and information on suicide and its warning signs. This hub is available to everyone, not just Miron team members.

Mental Health Stand-Downs

Stand-Downs | To spread awareness about the staggering statistics of suicide in construction and share the launch of our new Mental Health Hub, all project sites and offices held stand-down discussions. Our stand-downs are an opportunity to stop work and share and discuss important information every quarter.

Mental Health Hub | This hub serves as library for those needing resources and is a space for continuous learning about mental health.
