Chemistry Building @UW-Madison

By the 2010s, it became clear to those in the University of Wisconsin’s chemistry department that it was time to expand.
The existing building, which dated to the 1960s, had outgrown its use and was a bottleneck for students finishing their undergraduate prerequisites. So, in 2016, Miron Construction began work on a new chemistry building.
The company served as the general contractor on the project, which consisted of two phases: the renovation of the existing Daniels Building and the construction of an eight-story addition. The buildings were interconnected, and the design had to account for independent building movements, while sharing mechanical systems.
