Construction of Convent Motherhouse Underway in Egg Harbor

Missionaries of the Word, a community of Catholic Sisters in the Diocese of Green Bay, is currently in the process of building a new center of operations in the Town of Egg Harbor. The location will serve as a residence for sisters as well as a space for priests on retreat.
Construction on the 20,000-square-foot project began on June 6 at 7403 Memorial Drive. The Motherhouse, the main dwelling in a convent, will house approximately 30 nuns. The parcel of land is about 80 acres in size.
Missionaries of the Word, with the project’s architect, brought their plans to the Town of Egg Harbor in October 2023, including a public hearing. They received approval from both the planning commission and the town board.
