Fox Cities Marathon half-marathon runner reignites passion for running as an adult

The Community First Fox Cities Marathon presented by Miron Construction is just over a month away, and one of the ThedaCare half-marathon runners is a man who’s been working to get back on his feet and work towards a childhood dream.
Joe Martin’s passion for running began when he was a child, with the goal of eventually running a full marathon, but that dream was put on hold nearly seven years ago.
“In 2017 I was in a car accident and was in the ER for about 6 hours. The only thankfully lasting injury that I have is I have torn cartilage in my left knee which was really difficult to deal with at first. Even just regular walking was difficult at times,” said Joe.
