Green Bay will pay to remove Packers Heritage Trail Plaza; also talks about Lambeau lease

Posted by Miron Construction

Green Bay City Council on Tuesday approved paying for the removal of the Green Bay Packers Heritage Trail Plaza and spent more than an hour in closed session talking about Lambeau Field lease negotiations.

Without discussion, council members approved a $109,701 bid from Miron Construction to dismantle the plaza at the northeast corner of Cherry and Washington streets in downtown Green Bay. The city wanted the plaza removed because Milwaukee developer New Land Enterprises plans to convert the Redevelopment Authority-owned surface parking lot into a $55 million, 268-unit luxury apartment high-rise with first-floor commercial space where the plaza is currently located.
