Maplewood Middle School is Wisconsin’s next ‘net-zero’ school. What does that mean?

On Election Day 2022, Menasha-area voters authorized an almost $100 million referendum to rebuild Maplewood Middle School, which Menasha Joint School District describes as “overcrowded and outdated.”
Not two years after the referendum question passed, construction of the new Maplewood Middle School is underway and set to finish by the beginning of the next school year. Miron Construction is building the new school.
