Project Overview
After planning and dreaming for well over a decade, members of Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Rhinelander are finally gathering in their completely renovated worship space. Thirteen years ago, the parishes of St. Mary and St. Joseph merged to become Nativity of Our Lord. Every effort during design and construction was made to honor the parishes’ histories by incorporating existing pieces from both church buildings. Three additions totaling 4,000 SF were made to the original church, including a new accessible main entry, multi-use meeting spaces, additional restroom accommodations, a side entrance vestibule, and a large area between the church and school. 2,500 SF of the existing structure was transformed into a gathering space, which multi-functions as overflow seating. Sacristy and music storage were renovated to provide better support for worship, and the nave was reconfigured to allow better arrangement of the music ministry, accessibility to the sanctuary, and flexible seating space for ADA compliant seating.
