Project Overview
The Sawyer County Courthouse Expansion provided a secure connection between the existing courthouse and the Sawyer County Jail and Sheriff’s Office. This 12,000-square-foot addition was comprised of a new courtroom and all associated offices, holding areas, and public spaces; major remodeling of the existing courtroom and all associated offices, holding areas, and public spaces; a new assembly room/Sawyer County board room; remodeled Court Commissioner’s hearing room; and remodeled Clerk of Court office suite. The new public lobby and secure entrance and public corridor from the entrance to the new courtroom ensures a three-way separation between judicial staff, prisoners, and the public. The project also included the site work required for additional parking and service roads.
