Miron Construction Celebrates Women in Construction Week
Because women only make up less than 11% of the construction workforce, it is important to highlight the history of women in construction, their challenges, and ways they’ve preserved so future generations of women know they can thrive in this career.
Each year during the first full week of March, Miron joins thousands of contractors throughout the country to celebrate Women in Construction Week. This week is dedicated to highlighting and celebrating the women who are working hard and driving for change in the industry.
Although this celebration only officially happens once a year, at Miron, we recognize the women that make up our workforce all year. We’re observing this year’s theme Together We Rise, which commemorates the strength and knowledge of women and the vital role they play in shaping the future of Miron and the construction industry.
In 2024, Miron signified our commitment to diversifying our industry by signing the Department of Commerce’s Million Women in Construction Community Pledge. This pledge demonstrates our ongoing commitment to filling the skilled trades gap with passionate and smart women.
“Miron Construction understands that diversity drives innovation. With women comprising 10.9 percent of the construction industry and only 4.3 percent of skilled trade workers, our industry has an imbalance in gender diversity. Miron is committed to the equitable inclusion of all traditionally marginalized groups; we are excited to see the Million Women in Construction pledge help fill the skilled trades gap with passionate and smart individuals and increase gender diversity in the construction industry,” said Dave Walsh, Executive Vice President, Human Resources for Miron Construction.
To the women of Miron and all women in the construction industry: we celebrate you!
