Four Miron Construction Employees Named to 2024 Women in Construction List
Four Miron Construction Co., Inc. employees have been named to The Daily Reporter’s 2024 Women in Construction list. This list is comprised of the most successful women working within the Wisconsin construction community. With this list, The Daily Reporter recognizes those who, by achieving success, have also paved the way for other women in construction. Below are excerpts about each award recipient.
Business Developer of the Year – Jill Didier (Vice President, Business Development, Milwaukee Office)
Jill Didier is a transformational and collaborative leader with more than 30 years of experience in public, private, and nonprofit sectors. She takes an encouragement-first path in developing, growing, and advancing the company’s business development efforts as well as in her relationships with team members. Jill is committed to the mentorship and backing of women seeking unconventional ways to learn more about themselves. She is a breast cancer survivor and strives to light the path of hope for others facing the diagnosis.
HR Professional of the Year – Maria Seitz (Human Resources Manager)
Maria Seitz is often seen as a bastion of knowledge and advice, both within her team and companywide. Team members have gone to her with traditional HR-related questions, relied on her for coaching, and have opened up to her about personal issues. Maria also takes the time and goes out of her way to educate team members and their families on all things benefits-related. For these reasons, she has gained the reputation of being a shoulder to lean on no matter what the problem might be. Maria is known for the way she treats everyone in the company with equal respect regardless of seniority or stature, which has made her a respected leader and example for others.
Lean Champion of the Year – Karen Newhouse (Director, Lean Services)
Karen Newhouse brings extensive expertise and a new perspective to her role, challenging the company to think differently. She is passionate about what she does and has a thirst for knowledge. Karen is committed to getting everyone on the team to rally together around lean processes. No matter what challenge or issue she’s presented with, she always has a tool or idea to point the team in the right direction and help them find a solution. Her ability to communicate with all levels of an organization and meet people where they’re at has served her well, and she knows how to hold people accountable to eliminate process waste and achieve successful projects.
Project Manager of the Year – Tara O’Toole (Project Manager)
With her humble and unassuming personality, Tara O’Toole has been making strides in the construction industry for the past 12 years, steadily advancing and undertaking more complex projects. Tara navigates and manages multi-million-dollar projects with her meticulous mind and keen sense of detail while maintaining a high-level of trust and respect from her team members. She also knows the importance of passing on her foundational knowledge to younger people on the team, especially interns and younger project managers, serving as both a mentor and resource for others.
Women on this list have achieved excellence in their respective fields, have influenced other women to pursue construction careers, have opened doors for women in a variety of job settings that historically were closed to them, and have served their profession or community in a manner that has benefited the construction industry.
