Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding Prefabrication & Steel Cold Storage Building Additions

Project Overview

Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding completed two large expansions at their shipyard in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The project included a 67,000 SF double-bay addition to the existing prefabrication building (Building 433) and a 68,200 SF expansion of the steel cold storage building (Building 420).

These additions provided the critical space needed to support the production of Constellation Class Frigates for the U.S. Navy. The project required an accelerated schedule to meet the requirements of the naval contract. The Miron/GRAEF team employed creative design and procurement strategies to ensure the project stayed on schedule and within budget.
