Project Overview
This project consisted of a 2,275-square-foot addition to the existing engine room for one 230-ton low-stage and one 750-ton high-stage ammonia screw compressor to serve the new addition as well as existing process cooling loads. Miron also completed a 10,300-square-foot renovation of existing process space and a 20,100-square-foot addition to support the new rice production line. Work included a new color sorter and destoner tower at the raw rice receiving dock, dust collection, rice soak tanks, freezer and cooler construction, new production space, and secondary packaging area.
Miron worked collaboratively with the Owner’s process vendors on the strategic installation of process equipment. Miron performed millwright services for the Owner, including installing two freezer sections, each weighing 24 tons, that required several building components to be left incomplete until after the freezer was set in place. At full capacity, the rice line will produce approximately 45 tons of rice daily.
